Logging

Horse logging is a viable and ‘green’ alternative to mechanical skidding. Both small and large projects can be handled. We can improve your woodlot by selective cutting…allowing you to make money from your trees while preserving the woods for generations to come.

Horses leave virtually no mess, unlike the huge machines that are a more familiar sight in the woods today. Of course, a hundred years ago, ALL America’s timber was being pulled out by horsepower! Our draft horses and mules are capable of pulling between twenty and forty logs a day, depending on the difficulty of the terrain.

Winter Logging

We pull in snow, and in the leafy summer months. Currently cherry and hard maple are the top priced hardwoods. It should be mentioned that the horses at work are a magnificent sight…working in harmony with nature, not against it.
